Screen a material before changing temperatures
Start with an A2L-specific profile and the exact filament’s documented requirements. Check both heater limits: satisfying the nozzle requirement alone does not establish that the bed or open-frame configuration is appropriate.
“Other non-engineering filaments” is not an unrestricted compatibility list. For a material not explicitly identified, look for direct A2L guidance rather than borrowing settings from another Bambu printer.
When a profile or replacement part exceeds the rating
Stop rather than raising a limit to make the profile fit. A replacement hotend’s advertised temperature does not change the documented rating of the complete A2L printer. An unavailable material profile is a missing compatibility answer, not a reason to improvise a temperature recipe.
These specifications also do not define a cleaning temperature or a service interval. For maintenance, use the official procedure for the installed component; do not heat it to its maximum merely because that value appears in the specification.
FAQ
Bambu Lab A2L frequently asked questions
Each answer stays within the facts and sources shown on this page.
01Are the A2L maximum temperatures recommended everyday print settings?
No. The bed’s 80°C and nozzle’s 300°C are maximums. Bambu Lab lists PLA, PETG and other non-engineering filaments; a temperature ceiling alone does not establish a suitable profile for another material.
