This model uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi with IPv4 or IPv6, not 5 GHz. Initial onboarding is documented for Whisker app 1.31.0 or later with Bluetooth and location permission. These are setup requirements; Whisker+ is an optional service.

Whisker recommends basic globe cleaning every 1–3 months and deep cleaning at least every 3 months; multi-cat homes need more frequent care. The carbon filter is normally replaced about monthly, but is not required for operation. These are different care tasks, not a single universal replacement date.
Sensors require a soft, clean, dry microfiber or lens cloth. Sprays, damp cloths, vacuums and forced air are not permitted on them. The bonnet and base must not be wetted or submerged. Keep these component-specific restrictions with the cleaning instructions.
Litter-Robot 5 has the following documented carbon-filter replacement: About once per month under normal use; filter is not required for operation.
