A spare connection cannot supply an unsupported model’s missing Hub relationship. Equally, an identified compatible model still needs room within the Hub’s device limit. Compatibility and capacity must both be satisfied.

A compatible connection is not pet registration
For SureFeed Connect, the registered microchip or Sure Petcare tag controls pet recognition, while the Hub supplies the app route. Matching the Hub and feeder therefore does not establish whether a particular pet has been registered.
Once the model and capacity checks are settled, follow the feeder’s Hub/app guide for connected records and settings. If the question is instead which pet identifier to use, follow its identity-and-Hub compatibility guide. These are different next tasks, not reasons to buy a second type of bridge.
