Sure Petcare Smart pet devices guides

Sure Petcare devices distinguish identifying a pet, controlling meal access and recording activity through the Hub. A microchip feeder does not automatically dispense scheduled food, and Felaqua identification does not lock other pets away from water.

Tasks for Sure Petcare devices

Research and editing: My Device Guide. Compiled with AI assistance and reviewed against the manufacturer documents and model records cited below. How we verify · Updated:

Identify the care task and the connected route

SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder, its Connect version, Felaqua Connect and the Hub perform different roles. The feeders manage access to prepared food, Felaqua supplies water with drinking records, and the Hub provides a connected route for compatible products. Those roles should be compared separately when planning a household setup.

Begin with the problem you need to solve: another pet reaching a meal, monitoring drinking or collecting records in the app. Identification can support different behavior on different devices. It is not a universal promise of restricted access, automatic dispensing or compatibility with every implanted chip.

SureFeed controls access to an owner-prepared meal

The original SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder has a 400 ml bowl for wet or dry food; the owner supplies the food and the lid opens for a registered pet. It is useful for an access-control question, not the same task as dispensing portions from a hopper on a timetable.

The Connect version also has a 400 ml bowl and adds documented portion guidance and connected records through the required Hub. Its manufacturer accuracy statement is not our independent weighing test. Decide whether the connected functions matter before treating Connect as a necessary upgrade for basic meal access.

Felaqua monitors drinking without restricting access

Felaqua Connect is a battery-powered bowl with a 1 L reservoir, not a recirculating fountain. It has no pump or replaceable filters in the documented workflow. Compare those ownership characteristics with your water-supply needs rather than selecting it from the general idea of a smart fountain.

Recognition uses supported microchips or a Sure Petcare tag, with the recorded exclusions for AVID and Trovan. The bowl remains open to any pet: recognition supports monitoring rather than locking others out. A household needing restricted water access should not treat drinking identification as evidence of that different capability.

The Hub has a specific connection role

The Sure Petcare Hub links compatible Connect devices with the app and supports up to 10 connected devices. Its physical router connection uses the included Ethernet cable and mains power. A description of the home Wi-Fi router does not make this Hub-to-router link wireless.

Plan the router connection, power location and compatible devices before purchasing the connected setup. The Hub is not a feeder, a universal smart-home controller or a pet-identification reader by itself. Its presence also does not prove that an unlisted product or accessory gains connected functionality.

Accessories and records retain model boundaries

The original feeder’s split bowl explicitly excludes Feeder Connect, while other documented bowl and mat items list both models. Check the exact accessory statement rather than assuming that nearly identical feeder names establish parts interchangeability. A model-specific exception is more useful than a general compatibility slogan.

Use the linked guides and original source cards before relying on an identity, bowl or connected record. Manufacturer documents establish device behavior, not veterinary diagnosis. If a drinking or feeding change concerns you, retain the records as context and seek appropriate veterinary advice; the product cannot determine the medical meaning of that change.
