Three checks before choosing

The 71 × 29 × 17 mm body is a different measurement from collar width. Check the collar across the strap: a 2.8 cm width limit does not describe your dog's neck circumference. The weight recommendation and clip fit both need to work for your setup.

The Tractive app requires iOS/iPadOS 17 or later, or Android 10 or later with Google Play Services. Confirm the phone you will actually use, especially if an older spare phone is part of your plan.

The same configuration lists charging adapter voltage as Use a 5 V USB adapter; higher voltage can damage the tracker. Plan the connection around the documented interface and network requirement. A phone or router offering other bands does not establish that this device supports them, and a successful local connection does not prove that every cloud or remote feature is available. Keep region, app and firmware requirements attached to the exact configuration when preparing setup.

Choose a tracking routine, not just a battery headline

DOG 6 uses GPS, GLONASS and Galileo for positioning. Normal tracking updates every 2–10 minutes; a LIVE session can take about 30 seconds to start and normally ends after five minutes unless extended. Those modes serve different needs, so a gap between ordinary updates is not automatically a fault.

A Power Saving Zone can use Wi-Fi or a Tractive Base Station. LIVE tracking is unavailable while the tracker is in that zone. This is also why the 14-day battery headline needs its condition: outside that setup, Tractive gives up to six days. The network guide explains the mode and app checks in more detail.

Tractive DOG 6 has the following documented battery life: Up to 14 days with Power Saving Zones; up to 6 days without them. Capacity, a removable compartment, a built-in pack and a charging-case function answer different questions. Capacity alone does not establish runtime under your actual settings, and an accessible battery does not prove cross-model replacement fit. Health information is useful without being a diagnosis

DOG 6's documented health features include activity, sleep, resting heart rate, resting respiratory rate, barking, separation-anxiety monitoring and scratching. These are named monitoring features, not proof that the device can diagnose a condition.

Both subscription plans include the supported health features. Premium adds items such as Family Sharing and 365-day location history; Basic, where offered, provides 24-hour history. Choose a plan for the information and sharing you need, rather than assuming every additional health metric requires Premium.

The care limits worth knowing before the first charge

DOG 6 uses a 5V USB supply and takes about two hours to charge. A blue moisture indication, excessive heat, swelling, bite marks or visible damage changes the next step: stop and follow the relevant care or fault guidance rather than continuing a normal charging routine.

The published source material does not support one unqualified DOG 6 waterproof rating, and the exact regional cellular hardware profile is still unconfirmed. Those are specific unresolved specifications; neither the satellite list nor a replacement port cover settles them.

Tractive DOG 6 has the following documented charging stop conditions: Stop for excessive heat or swelling; charge the tracker only at 0-45 C in a ventilated area away from flammables. Build the care routine from this model’s documented tasks and stop conditions, keeping any interval tied to the part it concerns. Automatic operation does not authorize skipping checks or using an unlisted service method. If the source names abnormal wear, damage, obstruction or electrical precautions, retain those boundaries and use official support when the situation falls outside the documented procedure.
