Tractive Smart pet devices guides

Tractive selection combines animal fit, collar compatibility, mobile-network service and an active subscription. CAT 6 Mini, DOG 6 and DOG 6 XL differ in size and charging; battery headlines and health records are not universal tracking or medical guarantees.

Tasks for Tractive devices

Research and editing: My Device Guide. Compiled with AI assistance and reviewed against the manufacturer documents and model records cited below. How we verify · Updated:

Choose fit and service together

CAT 6 Mini, DOG 6 and DOG 6 XL are different tracker configurations. Begin with the animal’s size and the documented collar or attachment requirements, then confirm supported phone software, coverage and an active subscription. A tracker purchase alone does not complete the mobile-network tracking setup.

The built-in SIM service and subscription are part of the documented connection route. This guide does not establish current prices or billing terms, so check the official terms when buying. Keep physical fit, service availability and app compatibility as separate conditions instead of treating a GPS label as a promise of continuous tracking everywhere.

Pet size and attachment dimensions are model-specific

DOG 6 is documented at 39 g for dogs weighing at least 4 kg, with its supplied clip supporting collars up to 2.8 cm wide. DOG 6 XL is documented at 70 g for dogs above 20 kg and has its own collar-width and Clip XL entries. Those differences should be checked before choosing the larger model or reusing a clip.

CAT 6 Mini’s product and support records also distinguish collar variants and fit guidance. Keep the complete model and collar variant when checking measurements. A larger battery or familiar family name cannot establish comfortable or appropriate fit, and an attachment listed for one device is not proof of compatibility with another.

Battery life depends on the operating mode

DOG 6’s advertised battery guidance distinguishes up to 14 days with Power Saving Zones from up to six days without them. LIVE Tracking is unavailable while the tracker is inside a Power Saving Zone. Evaluate the trade-off using the mode you expect to use instead of treating the maximum runtime as continuous live location service.

DOG 6 XL’s guide retains an unresolved single-runtime figure rather than assigning DOG 6’s result to it. Location-update intervals and battery duration are different specifications. Confirm the exact tracker and mode when planning a search or charging routine, and do not turn a conditional manufacturer duration into a guarantee for every environment.

Charging and connection symptoms need different checks

CAT 6 Mini uses a magnetic charging method, whereas the selected DOG models document USB-C and a 5 V supply. Follow the method for the exact tracker rather than borrowing an older CAT Mini charger instruction or a higher-voltage assumption. Keep visible damage, heat and moisture stop conditions ahead of routine connection checks.

For the documented DOG models, cellular-network and GPS status are separate signals. A location symptom can therefore need a coverage check or an open-sky check rather than a charging change. Where blue moisture LEDs are shown, the official no-charge and drying instruction takes priority; do not use a normal cable-reconnection step to override it.

Tracking records are not veterinary diagnosis

The published Tractive guides distinguish supported health and activity features from medical-device claims. Use trends as context for the pet’s routine, not as a diagnosis or evidence that a concerning change is harmless. A working tracker does not remove the owner’s need to monitor the animal and seek appropriate care.

Before purchase or support, keep the model, collar, phone, plan and actual tracking mode together. The sources below support those documented boundaries, not independent coverage or endurance tests. An unresolved service or accessory combination should stay unconfirmed until the exact official guidance establishes it.
