Start with whether you want to watch now or return to a previous event. Live-view minutes apply to watching now; retention describes saved history. Compare those separately before deciding on a membership.

Globe live view is not a confirmed per-visit archive
The Pro has a litter-bed camera, but seeing a live image and receiving a recording for every visit are different capabilities. The official camera guide lists per-visit globe recordings among membership benefits while also saying they are coming soon.
If those recordings are essential to your decision, ask Whisker to confirm current availability before subscribing for that reason. The uncertainty concerns that recording feature, not the documented presence of the camera or its free live-view allowance.

Turn off capture, then interpret the indicator
Cameras are enabled by default. In Whisker, select the Pro, then View Camera → Controls and the camera power switch. Whisker says camera-off stops live video, event recording, the microphone and screenshots.
The status LED may remain on in that state even though recording is off. Check the control state rather than treating the illuminated LED alone as proof of recording. Deleting existing clips is a separate task; the switch description does not establish that saved history is erased.
